In this project the urban transformation is guided a preservation of the existing “cascina” (one of the traditional agricultural building related to the field surrounding the city) and the existing irrigation canal.
The district will also promote social interaction and a sense of community by means of sports facilities. The use of available city space for cooperative food production is another way to achieve greater sustainability.
The project combine habitation and farming with close proximity between producers and consumers, may provide greater sustainability.
