Lumezzane Park

The Put valley is like a rock sculpture with land and vegetation. A space with a strong vertical components, where the slopes that connect the sub-lying areas became a vertical ”green canvas”: the lush walls, covered with natural vegetation, characterizing the site, keeping the site identity.

Vertical park
The project has been developed with the intent to put in value the special topography of the site. Its strong verticality becomes founding factor of the park. Hence, the project wants to work with the vertical sections in its different faces in order to create an urban park open to the public, welcoming and dynamic.

Park open to the city
The site will become a real green oasis, a place of peace and nature. Today, despite the proximity of the Put valley to the urban center, it remains highly uneven and unknown to the city and its people. The project emphasizes the need to re-connect the site to the city and opening it to its inhabitants.

The project work with the routes: these are not imagined simply as the connecting lines between two points, but rather as the genuine own promenade, that guide the visitor to discover the park, its spaces and its magnificent scenery with the Alps foothills around.
